Important CACFP Compliance Notice:
This cereal list is provided as a reference tool to help identify cereals that may meet CACFP sugar limit requirements under CACFP guidelines. Providers remain responsible for verifying that each cereal served meets current CACFP requirements, including reviewing the product’s Nutrition Facts label.
When serving cereal, the exact cereal brand and variety must be accurately recorded on the Meal Production Record or menu documentation. Providers should always select the actual cereal served within their CACFP software system.
To help maintain accurate records and program compliance, not all cereals from this reference list are automatically added to the CACFP software system. This helps ensure that only cereals actively used by participating sites are available in the system and properly reviewed.
If your site plans to serve a cereal that is not currently available in the CACFP software, please contact PCCPA as soon as possible so the cereal can be reviewed and activated in the system before it is served.
Please note that serving cereals that are not verified to meet CACFP requirements or that are not properly recorded in the system may result in findings during monitoring reviews and could lead to meal disallowances.
Our goal is to support providers and help maintain full compliance with CACFP requirements. If you have questions about a cereal or need assistance adding one to the system, please reach out to our office and we will be happy to assist you.
